Our School
We Start With the Human

Nashville Big Picture High School begins with a questions: Who are you, and what do you love? Every student's education is built from that answer — their interests, their background, their way of learning. No two schedules look alike, because no two students are alike. We are guiding one student and one family at a time, and we know that none of it works without putting relationships first.

We Teach Students How to Learn
No one can say what work will look like in ten years. Artificial intelligence is already rewriting jobs that felt permanent a few years ago. So we teach the things that hold up: thinking critically, working with others, creating something new, and saying what you mean. Our students learn how to learn — which is the only preparation that survives a world that keeps changing.

Most Schools Bring the Community In. We Send Students Out.
Three days a week, our students are in school. Two days a week, they're working alongside professionals across Nashville — in labs, restaurants, studios, clinics, shops and offices. More than 100+ community partners mentor our students. This isn’t a field trip or a capstone. It’s how our students learn: doing the work, not just talking about the work, and finding the courage to make mistakes and try again.

Passion Is the Accelerator
Our students walk across the stage with more than a diploma. They leave with college credit already earned through Nashville State Community College and Tennessee College of Applied Technology, industry certifications in hand, and four years of experience presenting their work to families and mentors. Passion is what got them there. Our students go further because the work connects to something they care about.

Every Student Known
Ask our students what makes this place different, and they won’t lead with a program. They’ll tell you that our teachers, staff and administration know their names, their story and what they want to become. We lead with love and courage. We lead with love and joy. That’s not a slogan, it’s a practice repeated daily by every adult in this building.
